Caroline is currently in her final year of the Strategic Communications master’s program at American University, where her academic excellence is complemented by a rich tapestry of achievements in music, arts, and community service.
As the concertmaster of the American University Symphony Orchestra for three years and the first violinist in all her chamber groups, Caroline's musical prowess has not only enriched the university's cultural landscape but has also earned her recognition. She is the proud recipient of the 2023 Evelyn Swarthout Hayes Award, an honor bestowed upon a student who has made significant contributions to the university through the arts while maintaining an exceptional academic average. Additionally, Caroline emerged as a finalist in the highly competitive 2023 Concerto and Aria Competition.
Caroline embarked on her musical journey at the age of 5, evolving into a co-concertmaster of The Capitol Symphonic Youth Orchestras (TCSYO) after seven seasons. Her leadership led to extraordinary performance opportunities, including appearances at Carnegie Hall, Capital One Arena for the Microsoft Inspire conference, and the Kennedy Center's Millennium Stage with her clarinet quintet.
Beyond her musical pursuits, Caroline dedicated herself to service as an intern and volunteer at the Georgetown Lombardi Arts and Humanities Program at Georgetown University Hospital. Spending over 2,000 hours playing the violin for patients across various hospital settings, she continues to contribute to the program during her free time.
Caroline's artistic endeavors extend into prestigious programs such as The Curtis Institute of Music's Young Artist Summer Program, The Philadelphia International Music Festival, and The Sun Valley Summer Symphony. Outside the realm of music, she nurtures a passion for fashion, food, and the visual arts. During her downtime, she immerses herself in museum visits, enjoys cooking and baking with friends, and stays up to date with the latest fashion trends on social media.
In addition to her multifaceted talents, Caroline is an award-winning ceramicist and entrepreneur. In 2019, she received a Gold Key and Honorable Mention for her ceramics works from the Scholastic Art and Writing Competition. In 2020, she founded a baking business, Crumbs by Caroline, during the COVID-19 pandemic, temporarily pausing operations this semester due to academic commitments. After graduation, she hopes to resume order fulfillment and dreams of one day opening a brick-and-mortar store. Caroline's journey is a testament to her exceptional dedication, talent, and commitment to making a positive impact across various domains.
